Who is Karl Peisker?*
- I've been listening to reggae since the mid-1970s and played in reggae bands myself for many years. My music archive has now grown to well over 90,000 tracks spanning five decades. This includes several thousand reggae albums, and well over a thousand African albums (most of them vintage). Of course, there's other music as well. With more money or contacts, half my apartment would probably be filled with records.
- Through reggae and contacts with Africans, I "naturally" developed an interest in African music. In the mid-1980s, I was one of the first (in the Northwest region and) in Oldenburg to programmatically play reggae and African music in various discos and as a guest DJ at reggae and (rare) Afro concerts.
- Otherwise, I am a freelance journalist and photographer.
